The Problem:

At the Willow Tree, we believe that our world’s alcohol, tobacco, drug & violence problems stem largely from people feeling like they:

* are not wanted — that they don’t fit in or belong.
* have little personal power.
* don’t count — are not respected.
* are not loved or cared about.

This can be very painful.

Without healthy coping skills, many resort to acting out by drinking, drugging or raging.

Our Results:

We help children & families to be resilient & to triumph over adversity — turning negatives into positives.

Through Willow Tree,
youth & families:

* Improve self-esteem.
* Prevent, intervene or recover
from addiction & violence issues.
* Increase the Emotional, physical & spiritual health of their schools, families & communities.
* Make better choices.
* Impact many others

Willow Tree’s
Largest Program

Willow Tree Teen Institute.
WTTI (pronounced “witty”) is
A CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
& PEER LEADERSHIP PROJECT training youth to become
PREVENTION ADVOCATES.

Population:

NJ students in grades 6 - 12

Purpose of WTTI:
To train young people to make a positive difference regarding alcohol, tobacco, drug & violence issues in their schools, families and communities.
Intensive follow-up services
are provided year round.

Numbers:
As of January 2005 ...
2,504 participants and staff at ten
four-day residential training retreats.
Our participants have reached another 25,040 children who, in turn, reach out to many more! With your help, these numbers will increase!

What can you do to help us
reach more people?

1. Make a tax-deductible donation to the Willow Tree which will allow us to:

A.

Cover our actual year-round cost of $650 per person for youth to attend WTTI. Because schools cannot afford this amount, we have set our tuition at $385 per person. For every person that attends, we must raise another $265 just to break even.

B.

Allow us to expand this program to South Jersey.

C.

Develop C.A.M.P.: A new program for Children of Addicted Moms & Pops.

2. Volunteer to serve as staff for WTTI

3. Let us know of your interest in join-ing our Board.

4. Use Amazon.com through our website to purchase your books & music. Amazon donates a small portion of your purchase price back to our agency.
